“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” -Confucius

Prepping for mud runs (or anything for that matter) is pretty simple.  Put the work in and you’ll be ready on the day of the event.  It really is as simple as that.

After my WOD on Wednesday, I was still pretty sore but felt like my legs could’ve taken a bit more of a beating…  So, I went running yesterday morning and performed 250 lunges a little after the halfway point.  Here’s what it looked like:

Today will be about just putting the work in…  Let’s get to it!

WOD 8-1-14 (Up and Down the Mountain)

Warm up with 5 minutes of Jump Rope

Main Set:

  • Rep schedule: 9-15-21-15-9 (9 reps each exercise, the 15 reps each exercise, then 21…)
  • Pushups
  • Mountain Climbers
  • Burpees
  • Box Jumps
  • Pullups
  • Box Jumps
  • Burpees
  • Mountain Climbers

This is the set.  Focus and take your time.  Workouts like this help to point out areas of weakness so you’ll know what to focus on in your next set of workouts.

Make sure you take time to fully stretch out and re-hydrate yourself.  I usually spend about 10-15 minutes stretching out – It helps with recovery.

That’s it!

See you on Monday!
