WOD @allandnieva.me

“Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

I specifically chose this quote and motivational image for a reason. Today is hill sprints.

Hill sprints are brutal, but they definitely give you an intense workout, as well as help you find your limits.

Just when you think you’re done, you take a one-minute breather and find the strength to do it just one more time.

This simulates what you feel on half-marathon distance obstacle course races.  In two days, I’ll be running the 14+ mile Spartan Beast in CA. The race is expected to consist of numerous hills, reminiscent of the Sacramento.  If this is the case, this WOD is perfect.

Let’s get to it!

WOD 9-11-14 (Hill Sprints)

Warm up:

  • 10 Air Squats
  • 10 Burpees
  • 10 Standing knee-to-chest jumps
  • repeat three times, then stretch out.  Running hills works best when your muscles are warm.

Main set:

  • It’s  simple.  Find a hill and charge up it!
  • Run back down and aim to do it for a minimum of 10 times.

Take a breather, stretch out, hydrate, then repeat it.

You got this!

Wish me good luck on Saturday!

See you on Monday!
