Starting with the Spartan Sprint last Sunday, then everything I’ve had to endure this week, I’ve been reminded that your life can change for better or worse in an instant.

This is all the more reason to keep living your life to the fullest. Don’t take your health for granted. In fact, don’t take *anything* for granted. Enjoy what you have, and if you’re aren’t happy with what you have, start putting your efforts towards things that *will* make you happy.

After my very weak showing at the Spartan Sprint, I saw my doctor. To put it simply, my body has some issues that may take a long time to recover from. The tests from last week and the ones I’ll be taking this week will confirm.

In the meantime, I gave my body a rest last week, but then decided to run and try a workout today. It was (very) painful, but I took my time. Here’s what I did.

WOD – 2-16-15

Warm up: 3-mile walk/jog/run

Main set:

Superset of the following:

  • Bench Press + Pullups (I did 11 presses, then 11 pullups
  • 1-2 minute rest

You can change it to the following:

  • Pushups (up to 25 reps), then pullups (you decide on your number of reps, but no less than 5)
  • 1-2 minute rest

That’s it!

At this time, just breathing has been difficult, so this workout actually took more than an hour for me to complete. My rest periods were closer to the 2-minute mark, so adjust it to what you need.

Cool down with a stretch, re-hydrate, and re-fuel.
